1.3.5 Advertising in the Programmer

The Programmer enables you to schedule advertising in slots and events. Depending on the individual requirements, there are several options for scheduling ad breaks automatically or manually. Ad breaks can be inserted in program templates, series scheduling and manual scheduling. For scheduling advertising, the Programmer provides seven options which will be described in detail in the following.

Notice:

A special case are trailer ad breaks for which standard allocation can be defined (2.7 Tab Tools).

The following table provides short descriptions of the various options of commercial scheduling and shows the advantages of each option.

Definition of ad break models

In the Programmer (and in the application Scheme), it is possible to create various customer-specific ad break models. These models determine a validity period per channel and the number of ad breaks of a certain type that are scheduled in events of a certain length on certain days or at certain times.

Possibility to create and edit any number of ad break models. These models can then be used anytime in order to distribute ad breaks automatically to the events.

Application of ad break models to events

Automatic scheduling of ad breaks in events according to the pre-defined ad break model

  • No slot scheme required
  • Applicable to all events or only to selected events
  • Possibility to apply public holiday schemes
  • Possibility to delete ad breaks from the events

Activation of the commercial schedule of the slots

All slots that include ad breaks automatically transfer these ad breaks to the events scheduled in them.

  • This function can only be used if a program scheme with ad breaks in the slots is open.
  • This function enables you to schedule ad breaks in the slotsā€˜ events fast and automatically.
  • Events that have been scheduled without slots can be manually scheduled later.

Definition of an ad price schedule

Ad price schedules can be defined in the Programmer and the Scheme and used later. Various ad break types (e.g. ad break before, within or after an event) and ad price categories are distributed during a certain validity period. The ad price schedule also determines on which days a certain category should be used for which ad break types.

You can create any number of ad price schedules. These can be used at any time in order to use pre-defined price categories.

Activation of an ad price schedule

Application of a pre-defined ad price schedule:

Fixed ad prices are allocated to all events which correspond to the pre-defined ad categories based on their scheduling (time, duration).

Automatic allocation of pre-defined ad prices to all events
