6.3.5.3 Interaction Between Ad Cuts and Scheduling
Usually, the scheduling department informs the material department on how many ad cuts are intended for a program and at which position these cuts are required. This depends on the commercial regulations for the channels. The material department creates the ad cuts for the program. On scheduling the program version in the Programmer, the scheduler creates the ad breaks within the plan, with ad break models for example.
In the Planner, the material can be assigned while the system offers the corresponding material due to the ad cuts assigned in the ContentExplorer. For example, if 3 ad breaks have been planned, the ad cut position with 4 ad cuts is automatically selected.
If only one ad break is planned, the ad cut position with 2 ad cuts is selected.
In case the number of scheduled ad breaks differs from the created ad cuts of an asset, the scheduler will not be able to assign material to the asset and there will be a material error.
If there are several ad cuts at proposal (e. g. 2 ad cuts at different positions) the scheduler can choose from both ad cuts.
