Holdback

Holdbacks are minimum distances between events and can be negotiated and determined in contracts. For example, if you want a FreeTV premiere not to be right after the PayTV premiere, you can negotiate a holdback, which offers a minimum distance between those two events. Holdbacks can be defined in the content explorer in two different ways:

  • License type: Go to Admin > Edit parameter > License type and create a license type named „Holdback“. The license type of the single license is edited in the dialog Edit license , tab General .
  • Window type: Go to  Admin > Edit parameter > Window type and activate the field called Holdback. The window type of a single window is edited in the dialog Edit license , tab Windows , column Window type.

Holdbacks can be applied as hard or soft holdbacks. Soft holdbacks only display and do not prohibit broadcasting, hard holdbacks prohibit broadcasting actively.
