1.3.3 Scheduling of Commercials
The Planner provides several wizards for all channels which schedule commercials with the help of commercial supplier companies. Thus the ad sales (commercials or commercial versions) can be scheduled nearly completely automated. The following steps are necessary for a correct scheduling of commercial in the Planner:
- Programmer: The initial program plan that was created in the Programmer has to be exported to the respective commercial supplier including information about the surrounding elements and ad breaks. Here, after finalizing the program plan a manually controlled export is effected.
- The commercial supplier „fills“ the ad breaks with ad sales. A list is provided for being imported into the Planner.
- Planner: Now the ad sales have to be imported per JobCtrl into the Planner. There are several imports that can be configured client-specifically.
- After a successful import the advertising spots are created automatically as new commercials/commercial versions in the ContentExplorer. The imported ad sales are listed in the Planner in the tab Adsales of the data bar. Now they can be scheduled in the broadcast schedule.
- Line in green: the imported ad sales can be assigned to the current schedule automatically and thus can be scheduled.
Line in red: the imported ad sales differ from the ad breaks in the current schedule and have to be checked or scheduled manually.
Notice:
All commercials (= ad sales, displayed in green) that were not scheduled yet can be positioned freely within the broadcast schedule - in this case an ad break is created automatically as a container, which inherits the number of the clip. Commercials carrying the same number as already scheduled ones (displayed in red) can NOT be moved freely within the Planner, since the broadcast plan may not contain two ad breaks with the same number.
- In order to „fill“ the ad breaks within the Planner correctly with the delivered commercial bookings, you should assign the imported ad sales to the ad breaks automatically with the function Import commercial schedule. The ad sales are assigned on the basis of the ad break coding.
- Finally you can check the ad breaks with a subsequent check to resolve errors or wrong allocations (header Tests > Check ad breaks).
