2.7 Tab Tools

In this tab you can press the following buttons:

JobCtrl

With the JobCtrl wizard you can carry out all necessary imports and exports (e. g. the export of the program schedule, an PTS/APS export). All imports and exports are customer specific. As all jobs differ per client, they will not be further described here.

To perform an import or export, please do the following:

  1. Open the JobCtrl wizard and select the required job in the drop-down list next to Select import/export.
  2. On some imports/exports you need to make a further selection in the second drop-down list.
  3. Description: short description of the job.
  4. Date: Depending on the import/export you can enter a date from/to or the start date (for examples on exporting a week).
  5. Channel/Folder etc.: select the objects from the lists.
  6. Enter the source file. With the button you can enter the target or source path.
  7. Enter the duration of the editing timeout.
  8. If you wish to view the import/export, please activate the flag Show.
  9. The flag Close dialog after execution is activated as default setting. In case you need to perform another job, deactivate this flag. The dialog will then remain open.
  10. Start the import/export with OK.

ReportCtrl

You can start all required reports in the ReportCtrl wizard. Several general reports can be carried out, further reports can be configured customer specific.

To perform a report, please do the following:

  1. Please select the respective report in the drop down menu.
  2. For some reports you can make a further selection in the second drop-down list.
  3. Description: short description of the job.
  4. Date: Depending on the report you can enter a date from/to or the start date (for examples on exporting a week).
  5. Channel/Folder/Asset: select the objects from the lists.
  6. Enter the source file. Via the button next to the field you can enter the target or source path.
  7. Enter the duration of the editing timeout.
  8. If you wish to view the report, please activate the flag Show.
  9. The flag Close dialog after execution is activated as default setting. In case you need to perform another report, deactivate this flag. The dialog will then remain open.
  10. The report is generated with OK.

Export program schedule

If you want to export your program schedule, please save all changes before starting the export. Select this button afterwards.

  1. Enter the Channel which is supposed to be exported and select the start and end date for the export.
  2. If required, enter the Version.

  3. In case you want to export the scheduling and material as well, activate the respective flags.

  4. Start the export.

    → The Programmer will inform you whether the export was successful.

Insert folderInserts a folder into the data sources.

Insert note tabInserts a note tab into the data sources.

Remove tabRemoves a tab from the data sources.

Edit channel groups

This function allows you to combine various channels to service groups. These channels can then be opened and displayed next to each other in your program schedule window. Thus you may edit the channels simultaneously in one plan view.

To create a service group, please proceed as follows:

  1. Select the button in the dialog Edit channel groups. Enter a group name into the second field.
  2. Assign all required services to this group: To do this, select a channel from the channel list and add this channel with the button . Repeat this action for all channels you need to allocate to the new service group.
  3. For removing a channel from the service group click the button .
  4. Click Apply to save the new service group.

    → You will now find this service group in the channel-list of the navigation bar.

Edit channel variation

Channel variations can be created in the ContentExplorer as well as in the Programmer:

  • ContentExplorer: Admin > Edit parameter > Channel > button Create a new variant for this service.
  • Programmer: Tools > Edit channel variation: This opens the variation assistant. You can select a channel in the dropdown list. Once a channel has been selected, channel variations can be added with the button.

Edit plan visibility

The visibility of certain data can be restricted. You can do this by clicking this button.

After selecting a channel from the drop-down list, the dialog Edit plan visibility offers several options that can be activated for a certain period of time or up to a certain end date:

  • Visibility of the schedule in the Event Calendar (end date)
  • Visibility of the schedule in the ContentExplorer (end date)
  • Plan variant editable in the Planner (period of time from - to)

You can specify several periods of time for the option Plan variant editable in the Planner. A click on the button creates a new line with a new period of time. With the buttonyou can delete the selected line.

Edit trailer ad break standard allocation

This dialog enables users to create a standard allocation for trailers; the corresponding slots in the programmer will be filled in automatically. You can create a new standard allocation by clicking on the button . After entering the name and the validity date, you can fill in the fields:

  • Ad break type: The type is always Trailer ad break.
  •  Ad break tariff category: Select an ad break tariff category. These categories can be defined via the parameters in the Content Explorer.
  • Days: Select the days on which the trailer ad break will be broadcasted.
  • Time begin - Time end: Select the time period during which the trailer ad break will be broadcasted.

After that, you can enter the allocation. Clicking on the button in the area Allocation opens a search window which allows you to search for trailer versions. You can include a version from the search result list by selecting the relevant version and clicking on Apply.
