Expiration date of a user
In the user Administration of the Content Explorer an expiration date can be defined for users which displays the date a specific user will be deactivated.
By reaching the defined expiration date, all rights of the specific user will be revoked and its account will be deactivated.
Changing a Password
To change the password of a user log on as an administrator or ask your administrator to do it.
- Select the user whose password you want to change.
- Press Pwd. init. (initialize password).
→ You should now see a dialog, that the password of the user has been reset to a certain password. - The user can now use this password (complete, without the quotation marks) to log on the next time. The user then will be asked to change his password and can determine a new one.
Managing User Rights of an Individual User
You can manage rights for individual users. To do so, please proceed as follows:
- Select a user.
- Click the button Edit user .
→ The dialog Edit user opens. - Go to the tab Rights.
- Please activate all rights, which this specific user has. A list of all rights can be found here.
- In the column Channels, you can activate the rights for specific channels (or all channels, if empty). You can give users the right to their channels only.
- Close the dialog with OK.
Copying Rights from One User to Another
If you want to copy the rights of one user to another user, please proceed as follows:
- Select a user.
- Click the button Copy the rights of the selected user to other users .
→ The dialog Copies user rights from ... to opens. - Please add users, you want to copy the rights to, with the button .
- Click OK.
Please note, that it can be of advantage, to put users with the same user rights in one user group. If you do this, changes can be made for all users at once.
Managing the license for a user
You can manage licenses for user groups or for individual users. To manage a license of an individual user, please proceed as follows:
- Select a user.
- Click the button Edit user .
→ The dialog Edit user opens. - Go to the tab License.
Select within the section License the specific application to which you want to define the license for users.
For applications from the CreateCtrl Suite as well as the CreateCtrl WebSuite, licenses can be defined and managed within this dialog.
Copying Options from One User to Another
If you want to copy options (like the size of columns and colors of licenses) to another user, please proceed as follows:
- Select a user.
- Click the button Copy options of selected user .
→ The following dialog appears: - Proceed with Yes.
→ The dialog Copies user options from ... to opens. - Please add users, you want to copy the options to, with the button .
- Click OK.
Changing the Status of a User
In the column Status, you can choose from different Statuses for every user. There are three different statuses:
- Superuser: This is only for employees of CreateCtrl.
- Administrator: This status enables you to open the user management, to give and take rights of users and to create users.
- User: This is the usual status, which most of the users have.
