Searching for Titles

An essential part of VoDCtrl is the search panel. In this panel, you can search and filter for movies.

 

The buttons and fields are listed in the following table:

This button will hide the search panel.

 


This button will show the search panel if it has been hidden.

 

Reset

This button will reset all criteria and enable a new search.

Apply

This button will start the search for the selected filter criteria.

 

Search

Enables you to enter search terms and search for specific movie titles. You can use search operators like %, ;, (), _ and +. You can run the search by pressing the button .

 

Search in description

When this flag is activated, the description will also be searched. This will take longer than usual. When this flag is not activated, only the titles will be searched.

 

Select genre

Enables you to filter by genre.

 

Select right

Enables you to filter by right.

 

Select program type

Enables you to filter by program type.

 

Select production format

Enables you to filter by production format.

 

Show only active licenses

When this flag is activated, only active licenses will be shown. If not, inactive licenses will also be shown.

 

Linear planning

Here you can expand a section which is for linear planning.

 


This button will switch to list view.

 


This button will switch to title view.

In the select fields, you can select several items at the same time. For example: If you want to search for both Action and Animation, you can select both in the drop-down list:

 

If you want to deselect one of the entries, just click the entry again. It will not be selected afterward. You can also click on the entry , this will also remove the entry.  will uncheck every entry and  will check all entries.

Searching for New Titles

If you want to see all new titles, please proceed as follows:

  1. Under the search area please change to table view .
  2. Click on the column header Create date.
  3. Check, if the dates are increasing or decreasing. If they are increasing, click the column header Create date again.

    → The newest entries are now listed first.

Creating Windows

In the tab Stock, you can create VoD windows. In order to do this, please proceed as follows:

  1. Press the button .

    → This will open the dialog Select folder.
  2. If you want to create a new folder, select New Folder. If not, please proceed with step 4.
    → The dialog Folder name opens.
     
  3. Please type in the name of your new folder and click Confirm.
  4. Select your folder and click Apply selected.
  5. Now you have to drag and drop licenses into your folder.
  6. Select multiple licenses, by clicking on the boxes under Licenses.
  7. Drag the box Licenses of the movie, for which you want to create windows.
  8. Drop it into your folder.
  9. Do this with all the titles, for which you want to create a VoD window.
  10. Once you have moved all wanted titles into your folder, you can click on the folder and see the content, you moved into it.
  11. When you are satisfied with the entries in your folder, press the button Create window:

    → The dialog Create window will open.
  12. In this dialog, you can select the platform, start time and end time, playout format, window type, and price. If you are finished, please click Proceed.
    Please note, that you can only select price categories, if you have selected one platform and one or more playout formats.
  13. In the next dialog, you can select the program version, for which you want to create the window. Please leave everything on Automatic here.

    → This will create windows for all items in the selected folder with the data you entered in the dialog Create window. All created windows will be shown in the following dialog:

    → If a problem appeared during the creation, an error will be shown in the column Info.

Creating a Window for One Single Movie

In order to create only one window, you can click on the button  of a license.

 

Creating Windows for Seasons and Series

The creation of windows for series and seasons works just like the creation of windows for titles. You have to drag every episode manually into the folder.

Deleting Content from A Folder

If you want to remove any of the content from the folder, click the folder and click the button  of the title you want to remove.

Deleting All Content from a Folder

If you want to delete all content from a folder, please select the button Delete all content:

Remove the Content from View

If you want to remove a folder from the main view, please select the following button:

Deleting a Folder

If you want to delete a folder completely, please proceed as follows:

  1. Press the button .
    → This will open the dialog Select folder.
  2. In order to delete a folder completely, press the following button next to the folder, you want to delete:

Renaming a folder

If you want to rename a folder, please proceed as follows:

  1. Press the button .
    → This will open the dialog Select folder.
  2. In order to rename a folder, press the button  next to the folder, you want to rename.

Editing the Metadata of a Movie

If you want to edit the metadata of a movie in this module, you have to have the user right VOD_CONTENT_EDIT.

If you have this right, you can click the following button to edit a movie:

Then the dialog Update content opens:

Please note, that you can only select people as actors or directors when they already exist in the ContentExplorer.
