Matrix
Matrix overview
In Shield, the Matrix tab is set up for the following functions:
- Create, edit, copy and delete matrices
- Create, edit and delete categories
- Move and connect categories
Matrix interface
The Matrix user interface consists of two areas:
The Editing area at the top is used to create and edit matrices and create categories.
The Layer area below consists of three layers, among which categories can be moved back and forth. The area also displays the arrangement of the categories.
Buttons in the editing area
The following table contains the buttons in the editing area of the matrix user interface and explains their function.
Button | Name | Description |

Matrix selection | When clicked, the drop-down menu shows available matrices. | |
Deactivated | The matrix is deactivated. | |
Activated | The matrix is activated. | |
Set as default | The matrix can be set as the default setting. | |
Default | The matrix is set as the default setting. | |
Calculation | Opens a window containing the point calculation of the matrix. | |
Matrix is locked by Screenings | If a screening has not been completed, the matrix remains locked. | |
| Rename matrix | The matrix will be renamed. |
Copy matrix | A copy of the selected matrix will be created. | |
| Delete matrix | Deletes the matrix. |
Create new category | Creates a new category which can be created in the matrix layers. A window opens. | |
Create new matrix | Creates a new matrix that can be used for screening. A window opens. | |
Download matrix | The matrix will be downloaded. | |
Upload matrix | The matrix will be uploaded, a window opens. |
