Behind the broadcasting of content lies an extensive process that starts with creating this content. This includes, for example, programs (movies), series and series episodes, as well as trailers and commercials. Programs (movies), series episodes, trailers, and commercials each require versions (e.g., original and synchronized versions) in order to be scheduled.
The Content App allows to create and manage all elements needed for linear program planning and broadcast planning (performed in the Programmer and Planner App respectively). The content entries represent what will appear in a schedule such as movies (programs), series or trailers. Later in the process, content needs to be linked with the actual media files the audience will see, including video assets and images. Those media files (assets) are managed in the Assets App.

The following chapters describe programs, series, episodes, sequences and versions in more detail:
- Main article: Programs, series, episodes and sequences
- How to create and edit programs & program versions
- How to create and edit series (including seasons, episodes and episode versions)
- How to create and edit sequences

The following chapters describe promotion elements (promos) in more detail, including trailers & trailer versions, commercials & commercial versions, design elements and secondary elements:
- Main article: Trailers, Commercials, Secondary and Design Elements
- How to create and edit trailers & trailer versions
- How to create and edit commercials & commercial versions
- How to create and edit design elements & secondary elements

In addition to content, the Content app also allows to manage entries for perons such as actors (casts) or directors and companies, e. g. production companies.
Persons and companies can then be connected with content – Companies can also be connected with licenses.
Furthermore, the following features are available in the Content App:

- Dashboard: In the Dashboard tab, there is an overview of recently edited or created content such as programs and series. From here, the content can be edited (see Dashboard tab).
- Relations: Based on programs, series and sequences, relations to other content types such as contracts, licenses, windows, assets, versions, series, seasons, trailers, persons and epg texts can be viewed (see Relations tab).
- Forms: Here, customer-specific forms can be integrated.
- Connect: In the Connect tab, all kinds of jobs (imports and exports) are executed (see Manage imports and exports). The selection of imports and exports can be customized.
