    Content creation and assets

The Content app allows to create and manage all elements needed for linear program and broadcast planning (Programmer and Planner App respectively).

1 How to create and edit programs, series, episodes and sequences

The Stock tab is where programs (and program versions), series, seasons, episodes (and episode versions) and sequences are created and managed.

First of all, stock filters can be applied to find the desired content type (1).

By clicking new (content type) (1), new content can be created, leading to the corresponding editing dialogs. Episodes (as well as seasons) are added to series in the editing dialog of series.

Existing programs can be edited by opening the context menu (2) and clicking the edit button (3).

Another option to enter the dialog is via the Dashboard, where most recently edited or created content can be managed from.

3 How to add assets to content

It is both possible for users to add media files (assets and material) from their files and from media files created in the Asset App.

While assets refer to video files, material assets refer to non-video files such as images.

By clicking the Add new media button (1), a variety of options appears, including:

    • Upload media: Uploading media files from a user´s own files (file explorer).
    • Search media: Searching among all media files created in the Asset App to upload them.
    • Create asset: Navigates the user to the Asset App to create a new asset file
    • Create material: Navigates the user to the Asset App to create a new material file.

The following articles will explain the procedures in more detail:

When media files are uploaded from a program or episode, the version the media file is connected to needs to be selected first.

When adding media files directly from a version, this step is not necessary.

    Creating and uploading assets

This is the dialog in the Assets App where users will land when selecting the option Create new asset, where a variety of information can be specified, for example:

    1. Framerate: Individual frame rates are defined in the parameters and selected via drop-down menu.
    2. TCs: In order to determine the asset´s length, the TCs (starting and ending time code) are defined.
    3. Asset type & Asset category: Asset types and categories are created in the parameters and provide further information on the asset.
    4. Channel activation: This drop-down menu allows to select the channels the asset is supposed to be available for. Channels are defined in the parameters, as well.
    5. Numbers: Different reference number types can be defined in the parameters. The numbers can be used for the search, as well.
    6. Storage: It is also possible to specifically define where to store the asset.
