3 Data Bar
The data bar contains several tabs such as the search tab, the tab Current for current trailers, the scheduling status, material status etc. These tabs contain data in list form that can be dragged into the broadcast schedule. The tabs can be unhinged from the data bar and can be placed freely within the screen. Thus you can use several tabs simultaneously to edit the plan. In order to do this please drag the desired tab out of the data bar with the mouse. To hinge the tabs back again you just have to close the tab with the „X“ symbol. If required you can insert further folder and note tabs into the data bar to use them during the scheduling process. Folders can be created within the Programmer, Planner or else in the ContentExplorer and can be used here.
The data bar includes the following tabs:
Search
General search for trailers, programs (only on entering the number, for certain clients also on entering the title), commercials etc. Entering text or numbers is possible. The results are displayed in list form. Additionally, you can limit the result lists by using a filter function. For this please click with the right mouse on the column header and select the option Use filter. Now you can filter the columns according to your entries.
Current
The tab Current lists all trailers that have a valid utilization period for the currently opened broadcasting day and channel. The results are displayed in list form and can be filtered. You can drag the trailers (by drag and drop) into the broadcast plan.
Trailer to Program
After selecting a program, this tab lists all trailers (signations, design elements, jingles, boards etc.) that refer to the selected program. As a precondition that a reference exists for the selected program, otherwise the list remains empty.
Trailer in Plan
On opening this tab it lists all trailers that are employed in the current plan. The result list gives information on how often one trailer is scheduled in the plan (count), on the trailer type, the number, title, duration and the parental rating of the trailer.
Change Protocol
All changes that were made during the scheduling process are displayed here.
Scheduling Status
On selecting a program event in the broadcast schedule the scheduling state of this version is displayed in the data bar. Thus you get information on the timely and channel-specific scheduling data of the selected version within the overall scheduling. The tab lists the channel, begin and end date and the duration.
Material Status
This data bar tab lists the material status of all scheduled events in the currently opened schedule. Important columns are:
- First TXDate: chronological sorting of the list with time of day
- Material existing (yes/no)
- Material number
- Title / Original title / Series title etc.
Ad Sales
After the import of commercials the imported ads are listed in this tab. Ads can comprise commercials and commercial versions. Since commercial versions may carry diverse parental ratings you can check the parental rating of the commercial version with the check Tests > Show parental rating errors. Each commercial booking is indicated with a commercial block number - later the automatic commercial booking takes place on the basis of this booking. The tab also lists the title of the spot, the reference number, begin time, duration tape name and category.
- Line in green: the imported ad sales can be assigned to the current schedule automatically and thus can be scheduled.
- Line in red: the imported ad sales differ from the ad breaks in the current schedule and have to be checked or scheduled manually.
You can schedule the ads by using the drag and drop function: at any time you can drag clips (which have not been scheduled until now ) to any position within the plan - in this case an ad break will be inserted that inherits the number of the commercial. Commercials with identical numbers as already planned ones cannot be dragged to an arbitrary position, since the Planner does not allow two ad breaks with the same number.
By activating the option Adapt ad breaks to ad sales the current adbreaks are adapted to the overall sum of the associated bookings, see 1.3.3 Scheduling of Commercials.
Ad Sales Overview
This overview shows all imported ad sales that were imported from the external commercial providing system. The list shows the times that are booked in the plan and the number of ad sales per hour.
Notice:
In case a commercial has an activated flag Not commercial quota relevant this commercial will not be listed in this tab!
This is based on the following rule: For commercials you can book 12 minutes per hour. If this rule is broken, the respective line is colored in red.
Notice:
If an ad sale exceeds the hour line, it is split and distributed to both effected hours.
Ad Check
Here you can carry through an ad check for the correct booking of commercials. Please enter the time from/until and modify the hour start if required. Start the ad check by clicking on Go. The result list shows the duration and the hour of correct and incorrect ad bookings.
As-Run-Log
A planned vs. actual comparison of the data is carried through here after the As-Runs (the actual scheduling data) have been imported. This is a semi-automatic comparison which only considers main events. Secondary events are not considered. The result list gives the following information:
- Line in green: The scheduled events differ from the actual events by a maximum of +/- 15 minutes. The schedule is OK and does not need to be corrected.
- Line in red: the imported actual data are not in the schedule or a scheduling error was detected (e. g. an overlap). The schedule needs to be corrected subsequently.
- Line in dark green: The imported actual data are known in the system but were not scheduled or exported and thus do not have an event-ID. The schedule will be corrected subsequently and the event-ID needs to be entered manually.
- Line in dark blue: the scheduled events differ from the actual events by more than 15 minutes. The schedule has to be corrected subsequently.
Report
This tab serves to generate specified reports. The current broadcasting day and channel are preset as default setting. For example, a report „Secondary report“ can be generated to check the contents of all scheduled secondary events of the current day, including the broadcasting times. Further reports can be included client-specifically.
Layout
This tab Layout shows the scheduled events (upper line) and in addition the secondary events (bottom line). An assignment of events and secondary events is depicted by red arrows.
The frame on the right of the tab shows all layouts that have a valid utilization period for the actual channel and time period. To schedule a secondary event for an event you can drag and drop it with the mouse out of the list and on to the main event in the upper line of the layout grid. Due to the rules that are defined for each layout (field „AutoActionOffset" and "AutoActionDuration") the layout will be attached to the event at the calculated time automatically. However, you can manually adapt the start of the secondary event.
In case the secondary event is not connected to a main event you will get a warning message. You may avoid this by using an INDEPENDENT variable.
AutoActionOffset: automatic offset on scheduling the layout with the following optional values:
- Number of frames (positive = Start + or negative = end)
- Credit (=begin of credits on the tape position - realized via DB-function) +/- number of frames
- Main (=SecMainEventBegin) +/- number of frames
- InsertX (=Begin of the insertX on the tape position - realized via DB-function) +/- number of frames (X stands for the number of the insert f (1-9) e. g. "insert4")
DefaultAction Offset:
For layouts of a certain default length (e. g. 10 seconds) you may alter this length. The start time on scheduling is similar the the end of the primary minus the length of the secondary event.
For example:
- end time Primary: 13:42:51:10
- Secondary event length 15 sec
- Start time secondary event13:42:36:10
This default command has an effect on the calculation while scheduling. On recalculating the secondary events the length of the entry is NOT reset, only the start time is checked!
AutoActionDuration: automatic Length on scheduling the layout with the following optional values:
- Number of frames
- Credit +/-number of frames
- Main (=SecMainEventLength) +/- number of frames
All scheduled layouts are displayed in the open broadcast plan in the respective lines for the main event, see 1.3.6 Scheduling and Editing Layouts.
Note
You may add private notes to the current broadcast schedule. These notes can only be displayed by you even if another user opens the same broadcast schedule. To open a note tab please make a right-mouse click on any tab in the data bar and select the option Insert note tab in the tab Tools. You can rename the folder as desired.
To remove a folder or a note tab please make a right-mouse click on the respective tab and select the option Remove tab in the tab Tools. The tab will be removed from the data bar.
Folder
You can open folders in the data bar of the Planner. From these lists you can schedule per drag and drop just like from other lists. you can create new folders or open already existing folders. This works the same way as in the Programmer, see here for more information.
Notice:
The Planner only allows the use of folder types the content of which represent schedule-able elements of the Planner. These are design elements, trailer versions and commercial versions. Folder types like Material or Series can not be opened in the Planner.
Notice:
Please note that the content of the folder may be not shown, because it does not fulfill certain criteria. For example, trailer versions have to have the flag Released.
Event
The tab Events shows all events that have been created in the Event Calendar for the selected period as time-proportional bars. The Event Calendar is a separate web application that communicates with the Planner. The list on the right-hand side shows all types of calendars. By activating all or certain flags, you can view the events of all or only certain calendars.
