3.4 Dialog Apply Ad Break Model

Ad break models can be created client specifically in both Scheme and Programmer for any channel. The dialog serves to define how many ad breaks will be scheduled for events of a certain length for a channel and validity period.

As a first step an ad break model has to be defined in Scheme or Programmer as required so that it can be applied on the events in a currently opened program schedule (Programmer).

After defining an ad break model it can be applied repeatedly on a slot template (Scheme/Programmer) or directly on the events (Programmer). Here, all ad breaks are scheduled automatically according to a predefined scheme into the slots or events.

To apply an ad break model, please proceed as follows:

  1. Please verify whether the ad break model you wish to apply for your channel is defined according to your requirements.
  2. Open the ad break model in the header Scheme plan/Program schedule > Ad break model > Edit to check / edit the fields and close the dialog: 3.5 Dialog Edit Ad Break Model
  3. Please select Scheme plan/Program schedule > Ad break model > Apply. The following dialog opens:
  4. Select the required ad break model in the drop down list. Only valid ad break models (valid from/until) are offered for selection in this list.

    Notice:

On applying an ad break model all previously scheduled ad breaks in the affected elements are deleted. Thus only the ad breaks of the current ad break model will be scheduled.

  5. Edit all other fields.
  6. Click OK.
→ All elements are scheduled with ad breaks, displayed as colored rectangles.

Save your slot template/program plan. Now a commercial price schedule could be activated on the inserted ad breaks to enter the ad price groups. This is the precondition to assign index numbers.

Interrelation with the Programmer

The Programmer enables you to load a slot template (which is created in the Scheme) and to transfer all ad breaks of the slots automatically on to the scheduled events. Thus the commercial scheduling can take place nearly completely automated.

Notice:

On applying an ad break model on the events in the plan the previously defined segment lengths are taken over on to the events but can be edited manually (in the dialog Edit event , tab Advertising , button Edit lengths of segments).
