    Stock

The Shield app is an intelligent software solution for the protection of minors. Shield enables the fast, standardized and automatic calculation of the parental control rating for your entire content. It is based on reusable, country-specific rating matrices. Shield thus minimizes complex repetition during the rating process.

    1 Create and edit assets

Since screenings are created based on specific timecodes in an asset file, a stock tab is implemented into the Shield App that basically contains the same managing options as in the Assets App, including creating and editing assets.

Both creating new assets and editing existing ones apply the same dialog. The individual editing dialogs vary depending on the asset type.

The stock provides an overview of all assets. Specific assets can be found via the search bar (1) using the search and filter functions. They can be found by entering their name, reference numbers, tags or keywords.

Once the desired asset has been located, it can be edited (2) via the context menu. Alternatively, a new asset can be created by clicking New asset (3).

After clicking New asset, the following dialog opens where video, URL and MAM assets can be created.

The reason why only those types of assets (no metadata assets, metadata material, images or document files) are available is that screening will be performed based on specific timecodes (positions within a video):

    1. Upload video: Creating a new asset by uploading a video file, e. g from a local storage (see Upload video assets).

    2. Create URL asset: Creating an asset that points to an external resource via a web link, e.g. for streaming links (see Create URL assets).

    3. Connect asset with MAM: Linking an asset in this system to existing media already managed in a Media Asset Management (MAM) system (see Create MAM assets).

2 Check connection between content and assets

The Content tab provides an overview of all content from the Content App, indicating if assets are connected to it.

In the Content tab (1) in the left-side menu, all content from the Content App can be viewed. For each individual content item, it is displayed whether assets are linked to them (see 2).

This tab is for overview purposes only and does not allow to edit content.

Otherwise, the standard search & sort features (3) and filter functions (4) are included to find the desired content.

    3 Further context-menu options

In addition to editing assets, the context menu provides a range of further actions that can be applied to individual assets.

1 Edit asset: see chapter 1.

    2. Add to folder: Folders serve to collect and organize assets. Assets added to folders can be found in the Folder tab in the left-side menu.

    3. Add to favorite: This feature allows to mark assets as favorites for quick access. Assets added to favorites can be found in the Favorites tab in the left-side menu (see Manage favorites).

    4. Set to archive: This feature moves the asset to the archive. Archived assets are preserved but hidden from the active stock, keeping it organized (see Archive items).

    5. Open in screening: In this process, an age rating matrix is applied to annotated sections within the video asset to determine an age rating (see Screening).

    6. Shield reports: Shield reports (aka Screening reports) reflect the internal screening results (age rating) based on annotations added to specific timecodes in the video asset (see Screening in general and Reports specifically).

    7. Request: By submitting the internal screening report to an age rating authority, a request is submitted. By clicking this button, a new dialog opens that provides an overview of requests, including their statusses.

    8. Delete asset completely: This feaure permanently removes the asset from the system. The system will ask for confirmation before the asset is deleted.

4 Add assets to the clipboard

This chapter describes how to use the Clipboard to collect assets to perform the context-menu actions outlined in the previous chapter such as editing or opening shield reports:

Assets (1) can be moved to the Clipboard (2), located in the left-side menu, by drag and drop.

By hovering the mouse above an asset and clicking the x button (1), the asset can be removed from the Clipboard.

Users can find their collected assets in the My Assets side tab (1) to perform management options via the context menu.

    5 SmartSearch

The SmartSearch (1) not only contains all the the standard filter conditions, but also allows users to create their own filter configurations, which can be accessed by all users. The SmartSearch filters can be used in combination with the standard search, sort and filter functions.

This article explains how to create and apply individual SmartSearch filters: see SmartSearch.
