Segmentation Features

Create Ad cut

Learn how to create an ad cut with the following steps:

1. Click in the header on the tab Segmentation.

2. Select within the Searcharea the asset and click on play.

→ The asset is displayed in the videoplayer.

3. Click in the contentarea on  Create Ad cut.

→ The dialog Create new Ad cut opens.

4. You can set the following changes.

  • Name of the Ad cut
  • Number of breaks | segmentations
  • Remark

5. Click on Confirm.

→ The first ad cut will be displayed in the Contentarea. The corresponding In + Out tags will be marked in the videoplayer.

Edit Ad cut

Learn how to edit an ad cut with the following steps:

1. Select in the Searcharea the asset with the ad cuts you want to edit and click on play.

→ The asset will be displayed in the videoplayer. The created ad cuts are displayed underneath.

2. Select one of your created ad cuts under the videoplayer and click on Edit Ad cut.

→ The dialog Edit Ad cut opens.

Within the dialog you can change the name or remark of your ad cut as well as redefining the number of breaks | segments.

3. Click on confirm to save your changes.






Copy Ad cut

Learn how to copy an ad cut with the following steps:

1. Select in the Searcharea the asset with the ad cuts you want to edit and click on play.

→ The asset will be displayed in the videoplayer. The created ad cuts are displayed underneath.

2. Select one of your created ad cuts under the videoplayer and click on Copy Ad cuts.

→ The dialog Copy Ad cuts opens.


Within the dialog you can change the name or remark of your copied ad cut as well as redefining the number of breaks | segments.


3. Click Confirm to create a copy of your ad cut.

→ A copy of your ad cut will be created and displayed underneath the videoplayer in the playbackarea.





Delete Ad cut

Learn how to delete an ad cut with the following steps:

1. Select in the Searcharea the asset you want to delete and click on play.

→ The asset will be displayed in the videoplayer. The created ad cuts are displayed underneath.

2. Select one of your created ad cuts under the videoplayer and click on Delete ad cut.

→ The dialog Delete Ad cut opens.

3. Click Delete to confirm the deletion of your ad cut.

Set cut positions for Ad cuts


For the following cut positions the amount of breaks | segments of an ad cut has to be set to 2.

You can learn how to define the amount of breaks | segments under Edit ad cuts.

Learn how to set cut positions with the following steps:

1. Select in the Searcharea the asset with the ad cuts you want to edit the cut positions and click on play.

→ The asset will be displayed in the videoplayer. The created ad cuts are displayed underneath.

2. Select the ad cut you want to edit.

3. Navigate with the help of the videoplayer to the specific scene you want to set as your new cut position.

4. Click in the Contentarea on Set cut position.

→ A second ad cut with the corresponding timecodes is displayed underneath the first segment. A tag for the timecode is set in the videoplayer.




Resetting the begin ("In") of a video segment

You can reset the begin of a video segment with the option  Set IN.

Learn how to reset the begin with the following steps:

1. Select in the Searcharea the asset with the ad cuts you want to edit and click on play.

→ The asset will be displayed in the videoplayer. The created ad cuts are displayed underneath.

2. Select the ad cut you want to edit.

For the following steps it is necessary to have at least one set cut position and consequently two video segments.

3. Navigate with the help of the videoplayer to the specific scene you want to set as your new begin.


You can set the new begin of the video segment before or behind the current begin.

Blue MarkRed Mark

If you reset the begin in the past (behind the current begin), time will be added to the offset. A blue mark is displayed on the upper and lower video segment.

Consider the total length of the video segment!

If you reset the begin in the future (before the current begin), time will be subtract from the offset. A blue mark is displayed on the upper and lower video segment.

Consider the total length of the video segment!

4. Click on the second video segment.

5. Click on  Set IN.

→ Is the begin of the video segment set in the past, the blue mark will be displayed on both segments.

→ is the begin of the video segment set in the future, the red mark will be displayed on both segments.
