1.3.4 Scheduling Events in the Planner
The various elements in the Planner are scheduled by dragging and dropping them out of the data bar tabs and folders into the broadcast schedule. While programs, series and ad breaks are scheduled in the Programmer - often with the help of a template that was generated in the Scheme - you may fill the remaining times in the Planner with the following elements:
- Advertising spots/Ad sales: In the Planner, commercials and their subordinate commercial versions can only be scheduled into ad breaks. Here, the tab Adsales provides you with the advertising spots after they are imported into the Planner.
Trailers: can only be scheduled in the Planner in existing remaining times. They are scheduled by drag and drop.
Notice:
There can be a standard allocation for trailers.
- Design elements(Jingles, boards, signations, commercial separators): can only be scheduled in the Planner in existing remaining times. They are scheduled by drag and drop.
- Secondary events (Layouts): can only be scheduled with plan elements such as programs or series or they can be assigned to the broadcast plan itself, e.g. to blend in the time. The tab Layout serves to schedule secondary events
- Slots: These are placeholders which are scheduled in the Scheme or Programmer. They serve to structure and subdivide the program. A slot represents a hierarchical level in the Planner; it may contain blocks (with program events, trailers and commercials), events and ad breaks. Slots can be moved, edited and removed within the Planner.
Ad breaks: All ad breaks are displayed carrying the information of type, price group, type of tariff, and coding. The ad breaks are coded and assigned with an ad break index number automatically according to GFK-specifications. This can be done in the Scheme or in the Programmer and be taken over into the Planner automatically. Ad breaks may only be scheduled with ad sales. The Planner supports the automated scheduling of commercials, see 1.3.3 Scheduling of Commercials.
Notice:
The hierarchical structure of the Planner affects the scheduling behavior, above all drag-and-drop function at hierarchical borderlines: Please press the [SHIFT]-button while scheduling events at those borderlines (e. g. between slots or blocks): A small black bar appears to show you into which hierarchy level the element will be moved.
After scheduling the events in the Planner there are several linked ContentExplorer dialogs available to view and edit the event data - depending on your user rights. The following table lists all dialogs that are available in the Planner:
