2.1 Tab Start

In this tab you can press the following buttons:

Icon Label Description

Save

Saves the current program plan.

Notice:

Note of the Programmer on saving the plan „Do you want to save your changes?“ This note appears in case there are changes in the background of the plan that haven‘t yet been taken over into the plan. Here it makes sense to firstly call the function Track changes before saving the plan. You may activate/deactivate this note-option in Admin > Options > Planning > Apply modification log automatically.

Notice:

Please do not forget to save your program plan periodically.

Open new schedule

A click on this button opens a new scheduling window. This will be empty since the desired channel and time period that needs to be opened has to be selected at first. To open a program schedule, select the service from the channel-list and the start date (see 1.3 General Functions).

Enter the number of days that should be opened and load the program plan with the button . You can open various scheduling windows of different channels or time periods at the same time (another scheduling window of the same time and channel can only be accessed read-only).

Please mind to resolve the locking (write-protection) to edit a plan or to write-protect it so other users can edit the plan.

Notice:

Please remember to deactivate the locking (lock-symbol in the navigation bar of the Programmer). Otherwise you will only have reading access in the Programmer. This is necessary above all for simultaneously opened scheduling sections e. g. in the Programmer and Planner. The same plan can only be opened once with writing access - parallel editing of the same plan is not possible!

Activate/copy variation

Variants are program schedules that refer to a certain channel and serve as alternative to the actual schedule. This can be useful in various ways:

  • Variants can serve as alternative in case you have to ponder between several options.
  • Variants can serve as substitute schedules, in case scheduled events have to be cancelled or take more time than expected.

Variants are stored in the database and can be transferred to the actual schedule if required. Every user who is entitled to edit a program plan is also entitled to edit the corresponding variants. It is possible to create variations for planned services. The variations are special copies of the planned service that are flagged as Cannot be planned. However, the other settings and parameters (including the user rights) are copied to the variants.

Notice:

Variants of channels can be created in the ContentExplorer with the button Admin > Edit parameter > Channel > Create a new variant for this service : In order to edit the variants, you should define channel groups that include the main service and the variants. Channel groups are also created in the ContentExplorer (Admin > Edit parameter > Channel group).

In the Programmer, you can copy the real plan for a certain time frame from a main service to the variant with this button.

The alternative schedule in the variant can be edited in the Programmer in the usual way. If you would like to copy this schedule from the variant to the main service, you can also use the assistant Activate/copy variation. It is also possible to save the original schedule in another variant. If this option is selected, the schedule of the main service is copied to the backup variation before the variation plan is copied to the main service.
