5.2.3 Tab Windows

Various windows can be defined for each license. Windows define the utilization time of the linked program on a specific channel and during a specific period of time. As soon as the license has a valid window the program versions from this license can be scheduled and broadcast. This regulation can be checked within the Programmer respectively, meaning that the scheduled program versions will get an error status in case no valid window has been defined.

You can select the display of the license windows, what kind of windows you want to see. You can choose from Windows (all) (shows all windows), Windows linear (shows only windows, which are for linear television), and Windows nlb/vod (shows only windows, which are for non-linear television, like VOD).

Notice:

A window can only be created, if the license has a valid license begin and ending and a channel is applied to it.

If a license has a valid window, the version of a program can be planned and broadcasted in the given time frame and channel. If a program has no valid license and window, a license error will appear in the programmer. This only applies, if the flag License check is activated in the channel (Admin > Edit parameters > Channel > License check).

Underneath the display for license windows, you can choose from three different displays:

Vod takes (the number of clicks by users of the VOD platforms - this only works, if this feature has been activated for the individual customer)

Run description (the runs which have been imported from the playout center)

Scheduling (the runs which have been planned in the programmer).

The checkbox "For selected window" can be used to select and display connected broadcast dates for the current active window.

Between which of this three you can choose, depends on whether you have Windows (all) or something else selected above.

Any changes to the window (such as changing the window start / end or modifying the run number) are tracked and can be recalled in the change history for the window. To access the change history please select the respected window in this tab and click the third button at the top Shows the create/change information for the active element . A dialog opens where all changes concerning runs or window starts/ends are listed together with the user and date of change.

Specifications of the Tab Windows

This tab shows the license windows and the respective specifications. Every license window is displayed as an individual line in which you can enter various data. You can also link the license window to a certain version (column Version type).

The field in the lower area of the tab Windows shows the actual broadcasts, scheduling, and VoD takes of the program versions. The coloring is as follows:

  • Green coloring: All green lines represent a valid and correct scheduling (correct channel, correct license period) for the selected window above (see figure above)
  • White coloring: All white lines represent a valid and correct scheduling (correct channel, correct license period) for another window of this license (not selected)
  • Orange coloring: All orange lines represent a license error for the scheduled program versions which means that either no window exists at all for the scheduled versions or the selected channel is not assigned for the window or the program version was not scheduled within the allowed license period. You can resolve the license error by creating a further window or by correcting the assigned channel and time.
