Contracts and licenses are - just like programs, series and material - the basic elements of the ContentExplorer. Contracts and licenses are often linked to the CE elements programs, series and trailers. The editing can be controlled by using several workflows.
Contracts represent the relation between body corporates in all stages of proceeding. All contracts are recorded by the license administration within the ContentExplorer. The licenses represent the positions of a contract. The license data present the commercial basis of the scheduling process as they determine how often a program or series may be scheduled and broadcast as run or rerun.
Contract annexe can be stored with the contracts optionally, with a reference to the main contract.
The following two figures show the relation between CE elements and between contracts, licenses and programs:
License Selling Process
Notice:
The license selling process is only relevant for license distributors.
Purchase and Sales Licenses
Contracts, licenses and windows can be linked with their purchase counterpart. This enables dependencies between purchases and sales.
If a purchase license is linked to a sales license, the number of runs is calculated as follows:
- Purchase: Purchase license minus number of sales licenses
- Sales: Number of runs of the windows
Whether a contract is a purchase or a sales contract, can be defined with the contract category. In order to do this, go to Admin > Edit parameter > Contract category and edit the column Contract type.
There are the following contract types:
Contract Type | Description |
---|---|
N | Neutral |
A | Purchase |
V | Sales |
I | Interal |
The same classification is also possible for License Types.
